Upcoming Trips In Peru:

Climbing in Peru's
Cordillera Blanca

Summit Ridge of Urus Este, Peru

One of the most breathtaking parts of the continent (both figuratively and literally), the Cordillera Blanca is the world’s highest tropical mountain range and encompasses some of South America’s highest mountains.

After a brief hiatus we are excited to return to the big mountains of Peru with lead Guide David Garcia at the helm. Our expedition will take on 3 summits in the Cordillera Blanca. Peru offers an enchanting array of high altitude peaks. This climb is open to advanced beginner and intermediate climbers and offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the beauty of the Andes.

Trekking In The Peruvian Andes

Peru is one of the world's most beautiful trekking areas, where one can hike the stunning Inca trail and explore the Andes on a variety of paths culminating in a visit to Machu Picchu. We offer two treks to this wonder of the world:

Salkantay Trek

Along the Inca Trail, Peru

A staple of the Alpine Ascents calendar for many years, the Salkantay trek is an excellent undertaking for the fit enthusiast to hike among the beautiful Andes and stay in luxury boutique lodges each night. We know of no other places where the combination of mountain beauty and luxury lodging are so perfectly combined, ending with a visit to the famed Machu Picchu.

Tomorrow's Air

As a community that spends so much time in the mountains, we are very aware of the dramatic changes occurring around the world as a result of climate change. We are learning that alongside significant emissions reductions and natural climate solutions, new carbon removal and storage approaches are also needed to help us clean up the trillion tons of excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The reality is that even if all carbon dioxide emissions were to halt completely right now, Earth’s warming would continue due to the high levels of carbon dioxide already stored in the atmosphere. The only way to permanently reverse warming is through carbon removal.

Alpine Ascents is helping spread the word through our relationship with Tomorrow’s Air, the first and only carbon removal collective in travel, offering an easy way for travelers and travel companies to support climate conscious travel education and contribute to carbon removal with permanent storage. Tomorrow’s Air is incubated by the Adventure Travel Trade Association, a respected global network of sustainable adventure guides, operators, media, and destinations.
