Employee Celebration
Thank you to all of the employees who were able to attend Friday's celebration in honor of our U.S. News & World Report rankings. Astros player Grae Kessinger helped us celebrate being recognized as the No. 5 hospital in Houston and No. 9 in Texas! But wait - there's more fun! Leaders will pick up sweet treats for their staff today. We could not have earned this prestigious honor without you - thank you!
HMSL EMPLOYEE PARKING CHANGES
HMSL is committed to making parking more convenient and safer for you and our patients. We are reestablishing the use of employee vehicle registration and parking stickers. We are asking:
- HMSL employees register their vehicles, including EZ Tag registration for touchless gated parking entry
- Once registered, HMSL employees will receive a parking sticker to place on their vehicle(s)
To register your vehicle and receive a parking sticker, CLICK HERE or text HMSLParking to 45991. We request all employees complete the registration process by Aug. 28, 2023. New Self-Checkout Option at Garden Café
Have you tried our new self-checkout machine at the Garden Café? It's easy to use, saves you time and you can use the payroll deduct option! Watch COO Eliud Faz give a quick tutorial in the video or check out the steps below.
- Step 1 – Place & separate all items on tray. Your items will show on the screen.
- Step 2 – To receive your employee discount, scan the barcode on your employee badge. The reader is located underneath the screen.
- Step 3 – To pay, use your debit/credit card or Apple Pay on the reader. To use the payroll deduct option, swipe your badge on the side slot with magnet facing you.

HMSL Blood Drive
HMSL will host a blood drive on Monday, August 14 and Thursday, August 17. They will be held in Main conference rooms AD from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Eligible donors will receive an Astros beach bag (while supplies last). You can also earn one hour credit towards your PTO! Stress & Wellbeing Management Workshop
The Young Professionals ERG is hosting an ice cream social and you are invited. Learn tips on staying motivated, managing stress, avoiding burnout and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It will be held today from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Brazos Conference Center. It is also available via TEAMS. Naach (Dance) With Us Workshop
The Asian Heritage ERG and HM Wellness team are hosting an in-person and virtual movement workshop to learn about two Indian classical dance forms of Kathak and Bharatanatyam while enjoying movement, music, culture and fun with your colleagues. Town Hall Highlight: Our People in 2023
Houston Methodist Sugar Land serves our community with the help of more than 2,700 team members. Our growth and our success at our hospital is because of our people. Photo Contest
The Center for Performing Arts Medicine (CPAM) announces a call for photographs for Interconnected, the theme of the 2023 Healing Arts Exhibition. Pathway to Unparalleled
All Houston Methodist employees are strongly encouraged to register for this year's Pathway to Unparalleled (PTU). This year's 90-minute interactive program is designed to help employees think about unparalleled safety. Employee sessions will begin August 20 and continue through October.
