Sunday Edition
Well good morning everyone and welcome to another happy Sunday. We hope you all look forward to a relaxed summer evening featuring a delicious roast dinner and perhaps a cheeky glass of your favourite beverage to end the week!
Today, particularly as it's been such a crazy news filled week, we’re taking it easy like a Sunday Morning 🎵 and delivering you the wrap up of the week that was! So let's jump right in shall we?
So what happened in Australia and around the world this week?
-
This week, Coles, Woolies, Aldi and IGA gave us some super juicy discounts such as breakfast oats, Messina Gelato Bars (Yum!), some pamper and relaxation items, and household cleaning items. These deals are still available today.
-
Aldi are up to their classic discount shenanigans again and restocked their version of an expensive item for only $7…
-
Kmart released a sleek modern device that not only looks great but is guaranteed to keep you cool during the summer months (oh, and it only costs $59 compared to the competitors $599!)
-
Bunnings shoppers went nuts for the product providing the perfect solution to those annoying summer flies!
-
One Aldi Shopper was left horrified after finding this in her child’s toy. Keep an eye out, members.
-
Woolworths had cut ties with one of their major suppliers due to the shocking way they treat their workers. They have since resolved the issue.
-
Member Marice P. shared a hilarious joke that had us on the floor laughing. It’s a classic but still very funny.
-
One shopper shared a super simple yet genius hack that will have you racing to your nearest Bunnings.
-
Speaking of hacks, we learnt some helpful cleaning hacks from two modern cleanfluencers, including three best secrets to the cleanest shower ever and one unlikely product to use for that added sparkle and shine in your bathroom.
-
Ever open a bottle of wine and not finish it? Well, don’t let it go to waste with this amazing hack.
-
And finally, remember the iconic fashion of the 60s? Well, we hope you were a fan because this styling was set to make a comeback in 2022!
And that’s the wrap of the news for the week. But we’re not done yet! Stick around to check out the rest of the lineup of today’s newsletter, including a truly stunning and unmistakably Aussie photo sent in by our very own Steve W. Absolutely loved this shot Steve.
Also, don’t forget we are still running our photo competition! Submit your photo on our forum here for your chance to win a $100 Coles or Woolies voucher. The winner will be announced on the 11th of February.
As always members, stay safe, and happy reading!

This is a fantastic shot of Sydney Luna Park in 1937, surrounded by Bradfield Park and Milsons Point. The background also features a shot of the Harbour Bridge, which was 15 years old at the time, yet not open. Fans of Luna Park will notice some similarities between this picture and the infamous fun park that stands today, however, it has mostly transformed completely.

When you hear fine dining, we bet you think of foods like lobster, caviar and truffles. Famously referred to as the ‘diamonds’ of the kitchen, truffles are the little nuggets of fungi that are often considered the highlight of any fancy dinner menu.
However, as many fine food aficionados know, truffles typically cost thousands of dollars per kilo. So it may come as a surprise to learn that one supermarket is selling them for less than the price of a bottle of wine.

Compare Health Cover Now*
Health insurance rates are going up again this April, with Aussies already paying an average of $230.26 more for their health insurance since the 2021 price hikes. It is not yet known how much more they will be paying in 2022.
But what few people realise is that there are government rebates out there that could save you hundreds of dollars per year on your cover*. For eligible Aussies, the starting cost of a combined hospital & extras policy comes in at under $23 / week (or $3.22 per day) once the rebate has been claimed.
Select your health insurer to see if you're eligible for the latest government rebates to get health insurance from under $23 a week.

I went to the bottle shop the other day on my bicycle, bought a bottle of scotch and put it in the bicycle basket.
As I was about to leave, I was concerned that if I was to fall off of the bicycle, the bottle would break. So I drank all the scotch and then rode home. It turned out to be a very good decision, as I fell off my bike seven times on the way home!
We hope you all got a great laugh out of this one, but remember to consume alcohol responsibly, otherwise you might end up as part of one of our jokes!

Construction of the Sydney Opera House was expected to take four years. Instead however it took 14 years due to poor management and planning. Work commenced in 1959 and involved 10,000 construction workers.
