Minister Zeyoudi Meets With US Secretary of Commerce Raimondo During SelectUSA

During the SelectUSA Investment Summit, Minister of Foreign Trade, HE Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, and US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, reaffirmed the importance of the bilateral economic and trade relationship and the shared goal to build on the $40 billion in non-oil trade shared between the UAE and US in 2023.

The US is the UAE’s third-largest global trade partner and accounts for 27% of America’s non-oil trade with the Arab World. Trade between both countries increased over 50% in the past five years.

“The US remains one of our most trusted international allies and a vital trade and investment partner. Our relationship is not only strong and enduring, it continues to find productive new horizons,” said Minister Zeyoudi.

This year’s UAE delegation to SelectUSA was the largest ever and included 35 leading Emirati companies, officials and industry leaders from fast-growing sectors, such as AI and technology, healthcare and clean energy.

Minister Zeyoudi also traveled to San Francisco to meet with various Silicon Valley companies, including OpenAI, to discuss the vast potential of AI and opportunities for deeper UAE-US collaboration.

Emirati Successfully Completes Mission in NASA’s HERA Habitat

Demonstrating growing cooperation between the Mohamed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) and NASA, Dr. Shareef Al Romaithi, completed a 45-day Mars simulation mission inside the NASA Human Exploration Research Analogue (HERA) habitat at the Johnson Space Center.

Al Romaithi and his three American crewmates simulated a manned mission to Mars and conducted experiments to measure the psychological and physiological effects of sustained confinement and isolation, similar to what would be experienced during extended space travel.

“Being part of this analogue study has been an incredible journey of discovery and learning…I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this crucial research and am proud to represent the UAE in this international effort,” he said.
