Saturday Edition
Good morning ladies and gents! How are you all this morning? Well, I hope. It has been an absolute delight writing these newsletters again for you this week. I love my job, but I must admit that I miss the days when I wrote our newsletters every day. It’s just so wonderful being able to connect with each and every one of you on a daily basis. I hate to get all emotional and ‘mushy’ on you lot, but each and every one of you really inspires me. When Jon and I first started the Seniors Discount Club (SDC) it was hard work (and trust me, it still is) but the amount of messages, emails, and comments we get from you lot make it all worth it. The SDC has been one of the biggest and best changes to my life yet, and I just cannot thank you all enough for making this possible.
Now, it’s a Saturday and I know you aren’t here to read about me getting all emotional! You’re here to find out the answer to yesterday’s riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle was:
If 5 cats catch 5 mice in 5 minutes, how long will it take one cat to catch a mouse?
The answer is, drum roll please… 5 minutes! Now, that was a tough one to end the week on, don’t you think? For those who didn’t get the answer correct, do not fret! Keep on giving these riddles a go. They are a great way to keep our minds nice and active. For those of you that did get the answer correct, you can expect a shout-out waiting for you at the bottom of this newsletter. Congratulations, riddle masters!
Now, it wouldn’t be a Saturday without our ‘What Would the Grandkids Say’ segment, now would it? Today, I actually had to get the team’s help with finding a slang term, because I’m way out of the loop with this stuff, folks. Thankfully, the team isn’t and they told me I should tell you all about the phrase ‘hundo p’. Ah, yes. You read that correctly. The phrase is ‘hundo p’. ‘Hundo p’ is short for ‘100%.’ This phrase is often used when someone is sure of something or agrees with you on something completely. For example, if your grandchild asks you if you like their new haircut and you think it looks great, you could say ‘hundo p!’ Try using this phrase next time you talk to your grandkids and see how they react! I’m always open to hearing any stories about
you using your grandkids slang in front of your grandkids, so if you do have any stories, please do share them with us here! I have no doubt they are hilarious.

Before I let you get to it, I'd also like to give a heads-up! I know health insurance isn't the most interesting topic, but the majority of health insuerers will be increasing their premiums by an average of 2.90% in about a week's time*. This means that a lot of you could be paying on average anywhere between $167 and $194 extra per year on your health insurance*. We know this isn't money you have 'lying around'. So to see how much you can save before April 1, why not try comparing your health insurance?* If you don't save any money, don't change insurers! But what happens if you could save hundreds? Compare and save today*.
As always, we have our wonderful games ready for you to play, including our Alphabetical Bands/Groups Game, Alphabetical Australian Places Game, Change A Letter Game, and 3x3 Word Thread. Lastly, don't forget to enter our referral competition! All you have to do is refer your friends to the SDC (with their permission, of course) for one entry into the competition. The more entries you get into the competition, the more chances you have to win a $100 voucher to Coles, Woolworths, ALDI or IGA! To refer a friend to us, all you have to do is email us their name and email address here! You can also email us at contact@seniorsdiscountclub.com.au.
