Thursday Edition
Good morning, members and happy Fri- oh wait, it's only Thursday! Haha, we got you there, huh? 😏 Well, who else is excited about the weekend? We know we are! But we can't skip ahead just yet. Thursday (even though it’s not Friday) is still an important day and brings with it a whole host of things to enjoy. And today's newsletter is no different!
And with that, let's get started, shall we? First up, let's answer yesterday's riddle:
I have four legs, one head, and a foot. What am I?
The answer is, of course, a bed! Did you get it right? If you did, stick around until the end of the newsletter, where you'll find a shout-out waiting for you. Very generous of us, we know. 😉
Next on the list is today's Fascinating Fact!
Did you know that the world's largest pyramid isn't in Egypt? The largest pyramid in the world is actually in Mexico, called the Quetzalcóatl Pyramid of Cholula de Rivadavia. It is 54m tall, and its base covers an area of nearly 18.2 ha (45 acres). It's also the largest monument ever constructed in the world, with a total volume estimated at 3.3 million m³ compared with the current volume of 2.4 million m³ for the Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops. Fascinating, right?

A cuppa: In loving memory of Norma
Today’s lovely picture is thanks to our dear member Kevin. He emailed us this photo along with a touching memory of his late wife, Norma. ’The following is a bit different. I lost my wife, Norma, in July last year. A few months short of our 60th wedding anniversary. We loved our coffee at the Coffee Club in Lismore, and when my daughter and I next called in to inform the operators about my wife’s passing,
they brought out Norma’s favourite cuppa and set it down in front of a vacant chair. Quite an emotional moment.’
This one made us cry but truly made our day. What a beautiful and heart-warming gesture from the staff at the Coffee Club. This photo is a beautiful reminder that those we love never really leave us. They live on in our memories and the little things we do to keep their spirit alive. Thank you, Kevin, for sharing this lovely photo with us and letting us in on this special memory.
