Not too hot, not too cold, but just right, just how Goldilocks likes it!
Now before you head out into said weather, let's get into our activities for today, starting off with the answer to yesterday’s riddle! Let's get a quick refresher on exactly what it was.
What has four wheels and flies, but never leaves the ground?
So? How did you go? The answer is… A Garbage Truck! We really thought this one was going to have you all stumped, but alas, a ton of you nailed it! And you know what that means, right members? A correct answer earns a shoutout! Woohoo! So read on and you’ll stumble across your name, verifying your riddle solving expertise!
Next, as we do every Thursday, it’s time to share with you a fascinating fact!
Us Aussies love a good laugh eh? Well did you know, one Aussie bloke pranked the globe by listing the entire nation of New Zealand on eBay? That’s right folks, as a not so subtle and lighthearted jab at our buddies down south, in 2006, one man opened a bid for the country, starting at $0.01 AUD. Prices soared quickly to $3000, before the listing was taken down by eBay officials. While for us Aussies, this is a good laugh, our friends in NZ weren’t too happy. The Kiwi foreign minister at the time titled the prank as “nonsensical stupidity”. When us Aussies pull pranks, we go big or go home eh?
Now, what’s happening in Australia and around the world today?

Who here remembers this TV/stereo/liquor cabinet furniture? This three-in-one TV stand was the centrepiece of living rooms back in the day (if you could afford it!) It was popular back in the 1960s and cost a fortune, but it was totally worth it!

Compare Health Cover Now*
Three health insurance rate rises in the space of 18 months are what Aussies are being slapped with after a two year long global pandemic. Aussies were paying an average of $230.26 more for their health insurance after the 2021 price hikes. And now from 1 April 2022, a single person over the age of 65 will pay an additional average of about $75* more per year, with families paying an additional average of about $154* more per year.
What few people realise is that there are government rebates out there that could save you hundreds of dollars per year on your cover*. For eligible Aussies, the starting cost of a combined hospital & extras policy comes in at under $23 / week (or $3.22 per day) once the rebate has been claimed.
See if you're eligible for the latest government rebates to get health insurance from under $23 a week.

He said, “I used an FZ-200 Panasonic for this pic. I shoot in raw and process a little to remove the blue tinge and lighten the background forest for some detail. Specs are; f/4; 1/125sec; ISO-100 & 60mm focal length @35mm equiv.”
Oh, my goodness! What a magnificent sight! Look at those fantastic colours. Absolutely stunning! Thank you, @Algieboy, for sharing this photo with us!
