What a week!

Phew!

Full of markets, parties, wall planners, and freebies, last week was a big one. And you guys truly made it.

We hope that your welcome to Lancaster was an unforgettable one – but just in case, here’s a recap!

Because first, you had to get here!

You brought your toilet roll and your toothbrushes, grabbed your keys, and made the first step in the next big journey of your life. It was a delight to see so many of you making your way onto campus, honking your horns at our colleges!

Speaking of the colleges – Welcome Week would be nothing without you!

Every year, you put more and more effort into making this week as fabulous as it should be for new and returning students. From nights out on the town, to cosy movie marathons, and all the support in between. You make a huge impact for students, and for that we would like to say thank you!

Freshers Fair: Active 🏀

Wednesday was time to get ACTIVE!

Our active societies and sports clubs got together, alongside local businesses and LUSU, to deliver our Freshers Fair: Active. A chance for you to learn everything there is to know about some of our clubs and societies. From dance to korfball!

Freshers Fair: Discover 🪄

This year, we couldn’t just leave you with one Freshers Fair. Oh no, this year, we gave you two!

On Thursday, we did it all again – this time, with our amazing society communities. Ranging from academic interests and faith & cultural, to niche special interests. Alongside even more local businesses and LUSU services, you all had something to discover.

Over both Freshers Fairs, we had over – wait for it – 9,000 entries in and out of the Great Hall Complex!

For that, we’d like to say thank you. To our societies and clubs, colleges, local businesses, staff and crew members, and you!

A Sugar Rush 🍭

Welcome Week wouldn’t be Welcome Week without at least one night open at The Sugarhouse. So obviously, we had to have nine back-to-back.

Starting from Arrivals Weekend, Sugar was busy setting up the hottest club nights for students in Lancaster. From Back 2 School RnB to Freshers Festivals, every night was amazing.

On Wednesday, we welcomed RuPaul’s Drag Race SUPERSTAR, Kitty Scott Claus to the stage for a night of pop anthems and dazzling celebrations.

And then Saturday saw us go out with a BANG! With Special Guest rapper Not3s, it was time to Rep your College. All the colours were flying for a night of massive tunes, college pride, and unforgettable memories.

A green start to the year ♻️

Looking for something to do now that the academic year has officially begun?

Come along to The Big Green Fair: A showcase of environmental societies and campaigns on campus! This is your opportunity to learn what you can get involved in at Lancaster and how you can make a difference to sustainability!

There will be plant-based food for you to enjoy

The event will held in LEC Atrium 12-14 on Tuesday 14th October.
