Nominate someone for a Star Award!Nominations are now open for the 2025 Star Awards and this year’s celebration is extra special as it marks 20 years of Stockport Homes! Do you know a customer, community group or local resident who’s gone above and beyond to support others, create change or inspire their neighbourhood? Now’s the time to give them the recognition they truly deserve. This year's categories are: ⭐ Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion Elizabeth's journey to employmentThe SKylight employment team recently supported Elizabeth, who is profoundly deaf and relies on lip reading to communicate, because she faced significant barriers to employment after being made redundant and out of work for two years. Despite her strong work ethic and a history of success in data inputting roles, she struggled to secure employment, affecting her confidence and self-esteem. Elizabeth's officer provided tailored employment support, assisting with job searches, applications, and activities to rebuild her confidence. They referred her to a range of services including interview coaching and styling, and Skills for Life courses such as BSL, Sewing, and Artificial Intelligence. Thanks to this support, Elizabeth has secured a part-time administrative role with a wine tasting school, where she is now thriving and enjoying her work! A little goes a long way - customers support Your Local Pantry at MorrisonsWe recently visited Bredbury Morrisons where customers kindly added a couple of extra tins to their trolleys to support Your Local Pantry. The response was incredible - from canned tomatoes to huge bags of pasta, every single item donated helps us stock community-run pantries across Stockport, giving families the chance to access affordable food. The community keeps on growing at Webb Lane Allotments
Colleagues Adele and Elizabeth Jolley recently helped out with the 'Big Dig' at Webb Lane Allotments to free up more space for the AIPP Project (Ageing in Place Pathfinder). The AIPP improves quality of life for the over-50s community in Brinnington, and the new polytunnel at the allotment has already been used to grow produce by Banks Hall Infants school. There are now even more community groups coming on board to use this amazing facility... watch this space to see how the allotment grows!

Going the extra mile for customers: "There's few people like that around anymore"
While on site, Three Sixty operative Steve found that an elderly resident had taken a bad fall. He immediately stepped in to help and called for an ambulance before staying with the tenant and caring for them for over three hours until the ambulance arrived. We received a call from a fellow resident who took the time to phone in and praise Steve’s actions. They described him as “absolutely wonderful” and said, “There’s few people like that around anymore."
