The Halyard's had been in dire need of replacing and a restoration was sorely needed to get it back up to scratch. We've also installed a brand new air conditioning system in the green room with dehumidifying capabilities. Warm in winter, cool in summer and dry all year round is the now highly achievable dream.You might have noticed a lot of chatter in the press recently about us and our little community which all started with our "Pokies, Policy & Possibilities - an evening with Tim Costello" event we held last month. It has since grown and caught the attention of the wider community and media and we couldn't be more thrilled. These last few weeks our president George Catsi has been on ABC Radio Sydney, NZ Radio, Triple M Rush Hour, The Project tv, and The Today Show and has written an insightful and considered opinion piece for The Sydney Morning Herald which went viral and has been interviewed by Club Tic and News.com.In the words of Tim Freedman, "We Blew up the Pokies!" Gardening Australia air dateIn January, the legends from Gardening Australia joined us in the veggie patch and on the greens for a few days of fun. We planted some saplings and Anna, one of our Directors and president George chatted with Costa about our future plans for accessibility improvement and our story. Our little slice of heaven will be featured in Gardening Australia's good Friday episode at 7:30 pm & on Easter Sunday at 1:30 pm. Peep February's Readers with Richard Fidler belowSpecial Olympics Inner West BocceOur club is now the venue for the Inner West Special Olympics Bocce program. Special Olympics provides sporting opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities They will be at PBC every Thursday 5.30-6.30 pm. The Inner West Council is calling for volunteers who would like to help out. The most valued help with setting up the inflatable courts at 5 pm so it's ready to go for their athletes. Special Olympics Inner West BocceYour monthly family friendly get together and our last for the year! This happens every 2nd Friday of the month. *This month & every month, La Nina decides what happens so as always it will be rain depending. Keep an eye on the socials the day of or before for an update! Liz and Craig at Sydney Jumping castle hire are the heroes of the Convene on the green and we couldn't do it without them. |
