Sunday Edition
A very good morning to you all and happy Sunday! What a week it has been for the team here at the SDC. Jon and I (Maddie) spent the week up in Brisbane with April and had the best time. It was so nice working in a different city for a change. I loved visiting Brisbane, it’s such a pretty place. We were also very productive work-wise and let me just say, you have a lot of things to look forward to in the coming months! We’re going to be some busy bees, but anything for you folks 😉 Now, it’s Sunday, and you know what that means? Yes, it’s time for the quote of the week.
‘You glow differently when your confidence is fuelled by belief in yourself instead of validation from others.’
I absolutely loved this quote when I stumbled upon it this week. I just think it’s a great piece of advice to share with family and friends, especially those who are a little bit younger. And you know what? It’s a good piece of advice to remind yourself of here and there. You can source your confidence from others, but that won’t take you very far. If you rely on your self worth coming from people around you, you’re not going to feel good about yourself often. But if that belief, self-worth, and confidence come from within, you will never question yourself and you’re going to feel better. Have a think about this one today. Where are you sourcing your confidence from? Yourself, or others?
Now, enough rambling from me, what’s happening across Australia and around the world today?

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is brought to you by the lovely, @leanneh! They shared this with us on our forum, ‘my childhood Sundays consisted of a wonderful trip to the football with my whole family including my grandparents. We always went before lunch so we could watch all the lead-up games. Blankets were laid out "on the hill" and we all had lunch. There was a family charge to get in and it can't have been much because my family were coping on a very small income of my Dad's whilst trying to build a house etc. Today a trip to the football costs a fortune and more often than not it involves so many drunken lunatics you wouldn't want your children there
in case they became involved in an all-in brawl. Back to the good old days of family footie outings for me.’
Wow, @leanneh this sounds like such a nice day out! It’s so true, going to the footy these days doesn’t seem like what it used to be. I have vivid memories as a little girl going to watch my dad play the local footy, I loved it, but I think that’s because I always got a sausage sandwich and they are my favourite 😂

This is the beautiful caption that was posted along with the sunrise series, ‘A weekend spent at Mission Beach in North Queensland. One of the many superb areas on the Queensland coast.’ Thank you so much for sharing this with us, @Wayne Blair!
