Lexie's StoryLexie’s leg pain started when she was 3 years old and she was later diagnosed with Shin Splints. Lexie described her daily experience as “shooting pain down my shins” that could “last for a whole day and go up to a 10 out of 10”. Thanks to the support of the Comfort Ability Program, funded by the Women's and Children's Hospital Foundation, her life has
improved significantly.

Our free Child and Adolescent Virtual Urgent Care Service connects parents with a virtual team of highly skilled emergency doctors and nurses who can assess and provide medical advice for your children, aged 6 months to 17 years.
Starlight Day - Bill's Story
7 year old Bill (pictured with his sister Lexi) was diagnosed with a life-long condition with no cure, at birth. He has spent a lot of time at the Women's and Children's Hospital and loves visiting the Starlight Express Room. Bill was featured in The Advertiser to celebrate The Starlight Foundation's 'Starlight Day' where every dollar donated was matched by their fundraising partners. Photo: The Advertiser, 2022
Village Co Supports Our Mums In Need
Steph (pictured right) has been a midwife for 15 years and works at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She is also CEO and Managing Director of The Village Co, a not-for-profit organisation passionate about supporting new mothers. Since 2018 The Village Co has donated over 2000 baby bags to the WCH packed with essential items for starting life as a new mum. Every mother who gave birth on the Mother's Day weekend this year was also gifted a pamper pack from The Village Co.
