NEWS UPDATE

29 September 2023

Publishers note

Given that industry research shows that Australians go boating all year round, it would be interesting to know who declared that this weekend is the start of the boating season. Not that I'm complaining, not at all. Let's take that and use it as a motivator to get people on the water.

Nationally, the weather patterns are baffling even our friends at the Bureau. With that in mind, let's remember to tell our customers, 'If in doubt, don't go out.' For decades, our friend Kieran Reekie from HiTide has been saying, 'Keep your eye on the sky,' and while that's good advice, let's make sure we do more than that when planning our boating trips.

This week, we have many interesting stories for you, and one that I enjoyed bringing to you is about the opening of a high-tech robotics manufacturing facility based at the University of Technology Sydney. They say, 'This technology empowers reliable navigation for marine vessels, space missions, aerospace, defence, autonomous vehicles, and flying taxis.'
