The Get Focused Stay Focused Conference brought educators from around the country to the University of California, Santa Barbara for two days of collaboration, professional development, and networking.
Focusing on enhancing and developing the Career Choices series, sessions included the middle school bridge program, whole-school implementation, principal and counselor training, dual enrollment, and so much more.
The closing session featured a keynote from veteran educator and retired principal of Indio High School, Rudy Ramirez, and an emotional surprise “thank you” video from students of the Indio Documentary.

We enjoyed hosting everyone at UCSB so much that preparation is already underway for our next Get Focused Stay Focused Conference happening at Santa Barbara City College January 11–12, 2024.
We will focus on empowering equitable CTE pathways with dual enrollment for ALL students. You don’t want to miss it!

On August 2nd, get aboard the pirate ship and learn about ‘Pirate Focus.’ Carol Keiser will present this fast-moving, one-day workshop that will help you learn everything you need to know to get started with a Career Choices series course that will motivate students with relevant exercises and activities.
Discover how to help students make a successful transition into high school, identify a career path that aligns with their personal goals, and create a 10-Year Plan that includes post-secondary education or training.
Join us at the La Cumbre Country Club August 30–31 for this two-day workshop diving into the Career Choices series.
Exchange ideas, evaluate approaches, and learn how to develop plans and create the kind of models that work best for your school and for your students. Have an opportunity to focus on project-based learning techniques, team-teaching tactics, curriculum integration models, and dropout prevention strategies.
