As we approach the final few days of our Employee Opinion Survey, I want to remind you how critical your feedback is to the continued growth and improvement of our hospital. Your input helps guide decisions for both our patients and our staff. Thank you to those who have already completed the survey – your feedback is much appreciated. I had a great time rounding with Rodeo Rocket and talking with many of you in the last few days. You can see pictures below in the newsletter.

If you haven’t completed the EOS survey, please do not miss this chance to make your voice heard. It doesn’t take long to complete, but its impact is long-lasting. The survey closes this Wednesday, October 30.

We’ll be celebrating in Brazos at two different times – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Festivities include pumpkin painting, giveaways, cookies, music and more. Thank you to those who joined me and the senior leadership team for our Q4 town halls last week. I enjoyed sharing hospital updates and hearing your thoughtful questions. We’ll have one final town hall this week. Please join us virtually on Thursday from 2-3 p.m.

Veterans Day Celebration

The Veterans Alliance ERG and the Center for Performing Arts Medicine are hosting a systemwide Veterans Day celebration from 11-11:30 a.m. Monday, November 11, to honor our HM employees, their loved ones, and all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces at the Barbara and President George H.W. Bush Atrium in Walter Tower at HMH.

If you or a family member have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, please submit a photo with a short description to veteransday@houstonmethodist.org by Wednesday, November 6. We will display the photos during the Veterans Day celebration. 

American Diabetes Walk Booth Event

We are less than a month away from Step Out® Walk: Houston - the premier fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association. If you want to join the fight to end diabetes, join the HMSL Wellness team this Thursday, October 31 at their booth. across from the Main Starbucks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be diabetes education, an activity with wellness and giveaways! Plus, you can earn 500 Healthy Directions+ for attending the booth event. And if you walk on November 16, you can earn 1,000 points!

You only have a few days left to sign up for the 2024 Fall International DEI Fashion Show!  The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, October 30. Prizes will be given to the top three performances. Winners will receive trophies your unit can proudly display.
