Sunday Edition
Good Morning folks! And welcome to a very happy Sunday. A day we here at the Seniors Discount Club love very much, and not just because we get a sleep in 😉 but because we get to give you a nice little wrap up of the week that was. So, let's get straight into it, shall we? Starting off with our Quote of the Week, of course! This week's quote is...
‘Life is too short to waste time on things that don't matter.’
We feel like this is a nice reminder for you all on a Sunday morning. We often find ourselves getting caught up in the little things, the things that don't really matter in the grand scheme of life. But if we can remember that life is too short to waste time on these things, we can focus on the things that are important to us. So today, we challenge you to take a step back and look at your life. What are the things that are important to you? What are the things that you want to focus on? And what are the things that you can let go of?
Now, let's move on to some news from across Australia and around the world this week…
-
This week, Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, and IGA gave us some amazing deals, including $2.25 Cadbury Cake Bars, $1.40 Chicken Kyiv Varieties, and $15 Brown Brothers Moscato. You
can still get these deals today!
-
People went wild over this 'miracle' $5.80 cleaning product’, with users swearing it will get a stain out of absolutely anything.
-
Aussies are saving on petrol after a petrol station launched a huge ‘Happy Hour’ discount for their struggling customers. Here’s how you can score the best deal at the pump.
-
Allen’s dropped three new lollies inspired by classic Australian drinks sparking a frenzy among Aussies.
-
We also got a first look at the ‘weird’ new Woolworths store that we can expect to see more of around the country.
-
Does your Kmart purchase have a blue sticker? Here’s why and it’s not good news for customers…
-
Kmart fans went nuts over a brand new home decor item that promises to give you a high-end wooden floor effect for only $15.
-
We also learnt some lesser-known tips for making flower bouquets last even longer.
-
Bargain hunters managed to score 90 per cent off a popular item, thanks to a Liquorland pricing error.
-
A Woolworths customer was left gobsmacked after an employee’s unexpected act while packing shelves…
-
And finally, members @Skipton, @Fisherman2320, and @Not too old shared some hilarious jokes that left us in stitches. Click each member’s username for a good laugh.
And that folks, is a wrap of the week that was! But the good stuff doesn’t end here (trust us) there’s plenty in store below including a challenging trivia question and a gorgeous ‘Yesterday’s Australia segment’. Who here remembers this?
Also, be sure to check out today's OzWord, our Sudoku puzzles, and our Let’s write a limerick game for some brain training! Oh and also for a bit of fun, we've started a thread about the most overrated and underrated products and we'd
love to know what yours are?
And last but not least, don’t forget to enter our ‘Nostalgia Competition’! All you have to do is simply tell us your most cherished memory from the Australia you grew up
in for your chance to win a $100 gift voucher to Coles, Woolworths, Aldi or IGA.
As always, members, stay safe and happy reading!

English supermodel Jean Shrimpton, escorted by the actor Terrence Stamp, shocked the world when she stepped off an aircraft on the 30th October 1965 and onto the Essendon Airport tarmac wearing a short white shift dress, en route to Derby Day at Flemington Racecourse in Victoria. The dress was made by Shrimpton’s dressmaker, Colin Rolfe, and the hem was 10 cm above the knee, because he had not been supplied with enough fabric to complete their intended design. Her appearance that day has become a pivotal moment in women’s fashion, and heralded the age of the mini, and a more relaxed approach to women’s fashion. Who here remembers this?

I just left Woolworths.
There was a boy screaming to the top of his lungs because his mother wouldn't buy him a chocolate bar.
So I asked him what kind he liked.
Haha! This is a classic. A big thanks to member @Skipton for this joke! Click here to read the rest of the joke.
