It's Roses week 🌹

It’s another week of term and this one’s a big one…

Tomorrow, Friday 1st May, Roses officially begins! The biggest Intervarsity tournament in Europe will be taking over Lancaster University campus this weekend as we compete against York University to answer the question on everyone’s mind: 

Can we beat York and clinch that record breaking fifth win in a row?

We've already taken the lead 🔥

Roses weekend hasn’t even officially begun, and we’ve already gone ahead and taken the lead from York. 

After our Running, Rowing, and Equestrian fixtures over the last few days, Lancaster has taken the lead 27-3! We can hear those victory cheers already…

Nominate a Rep ⭐

Do you know an Academic rep who has made a positive impact this past year? Make sure to nominate them for an Academic Rep Award!

Our academic reps have played an integral role in improving the student experience this past year, whether it be providing feedback, raising issues, or playing an integral part of wider university initiatives. 

Nominations are open until Friday 22nd May, meaning you have plenty of time to nominate those Academic Reps who have made a difference! 
 

200+ tree guards removed 🌳

A big thank you to our volunteers last week who helped LUSU Green remove hundreds of tree guards at Forrest Hills. We have planted hundreds, if not thousands, of trees at Forrest Hills since 2018, sequestering carbon and enhancing at biodiversity.

Tree guards are beneficial to trees when they first start to grow, but can hinder tree growth as they get bigger, so thank you everyone!
 

Another chance to attend ReachRespect training 💟

LUSU are once again partnering with Women’s Aid and taking a stand against domestic violence.  

We are offering free training for all students as part of Women’s Aid’s ReachRespect initiative, funded by YSL. 

The training session will take place: 

Monday 11th May, 2pm – 4pm via Microsoft Teams
