Welcome to the 15th issue of Fountain Head House School's 'The Splash'!

Welcome back!

Dear Parents & Carers,

Just a very short 'Welcome Back' edition of our newsletter this time around, as we kick-start this new academic year.

I hope you all enjoyed the Summer break, and had a chance to catch your breath, recharge and make some new memories with family and friends.

In typical British fashion, now that the children have returned to school the sun has reappeared!

Please do take note of the important dates listed below, which includes our planned School Community Days, Coffee Mornings and Afternoon Teas.

We hope to see you there!

With kind regards,

Thereza de Lucca

Headteacher

Achievement Day - FoodWise Short Course

Some of our Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils have started studying the ASDAN - Foodwise Short Course.

The ASDAN - FoodWise Short Course offers exciting and rewarding activities to develop skills and knowledge through cooking and food preparation.

This course helps learners to develop practical cooking skills, as well as personal, social, and work-related skills.  These abilities will support academic and vocational learning as a whole.

The ASDAN - FoodWise Short Course will enable our pupils to:

  • learn what is meant by healthy eating and wellbeing
  • learn and demonstrate the skills and techniques needed to cook
  • gain an understanding of the importance of sustainability and cooking on a budget
  • learn about aspects of the food industry and how it operates.

Some or our pupils had the opportunity to showcase their skills at the Achievement Day at the end of the last school year.

They produced an amazing finger buffet including vegetarian options, practised their presentation skills and complied with food safety and hygiene guidelines.

The pupils did a fabulous job and enjoyed serving staff, parents, and carers.
