NEWS UPDATE26 August 2022 Publishers noteWhilst this week seemed a quiet one for news, it was the BIA newsletters that mostly caught my attention. From the Boating Industry Association of Victoria, success at Lake Eildon with a bunch of students participating in an “immersion day”, the Better Boating program continues to deliver more infrastructure for boaters and the upcoming 60th Melbourne Boat Show has the ‘house-full’ sign up. This week’s newsletter from the Boating Industry Association Ltd has announced Crown Lands reform in NSW indicating more clarity for marina operators looking forward. Two other notable mentions with the first relating to the Sydney International Boat Show. They say the “BIA is currently holding debriefing sessions both within its own team and will soon be debriefing with its Event Delivery Partner Mulpha Events. Ahead of the meeting with Mulpha, BIA is gathering reports from exhibitor and visitor surveys, along with reports from ticketing, advertising, marketing and public relations, and key supplier feedback”. On the merger front, they also say “Following the signing of a Heads of Agreement between BIA Ltd and BIA Victoria during the Sydney International Boat Show, work continues to prepare the ground for joining forces. Work is proceeding in the background to ensure legal and financial matters are tidy ahead of a vote by the general membership in Victoria to proceed”. Lots to read and learn about.
