Tuesday Edition
Good morning, members, and happy Tuesday! For those of you who have just gotten back from an Easter break, or have just sat down after a busy long weekend, then welcome back! It’s good to have you back on board. We had a stellar weekend here at the Seniors Discount Club. We ate lots of chocolate, hot cross buns, and drank a lot of coffee (of course), and it was nice just to have a quiet weekend. For those of you who did get out and about, what did you get up to? We’d love to hear all about it, so don’t be shy, and please let us know all
about it on the forum!
Now, it’s a Tuesday and that means you’re all here because you want the answer to yesterday’s riddle! Just a reminder that there won’t be any riddle masters at the bottom of today’s newsletter because I (Maddie) was a one-man show over the weekend, so I couldn’t write all the newsletters and collate all the riddle masters! But don’t fret, the rest of the SDC team is back today, and everything, including riddles, will be run as per usual from today onwards! Now, what was yesterday’s riddle again?
In what year did Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall in the same year?
Ah, that’s right. A tough one, eh? The answer is… It happens every year! My goodness! Of course, that’s the answer. How did I forget that New Year’s Day falls on January 1 and Christmas Day falls on December 25, so, of course, every year New Year’s Day and Christmas Day fall in the same year! I’m a little bit embarrassed I didn’t get the riddle correct. 😂 But hey, I gave it a shot, and that’s what this is all about! If you did get the answer to the riddle correct, then give yourself a pat on the back; you’re a true riddle master!
Oh, and don't forget to play our newest game: SDC Bingo! Please read Jonathan's instructions first if you're new to the game. Today's numbers are G52, O73, and B14. Remember, you need an account on the forum to join, so if you don't have one already, register here!

How beautiful is this dressing table set that was posted on our forum by member @jenny? I just adore how precious these items used to be. The mirror, brush and clothes brush were delicate pieces that you took care of - because you knew how special they were. I just don’t feel like we have that same care with many items these days. It seems like everything is available and replaceable - nothing is as precious as these items were. Do you agree or disagree? I’d love to hear your thoughts! And also, if you have any photos of objects from your
childhood, don’t be afraid to share them with us here on our forum.

Okay, members, you know I absolutely love and adore all the photographs you post on our forum, but when I saw this photo posted by member @Chrischia, my jaw dropped. I had absolutely no idea you could see an aurora near Canberra, and now it’s on my bucket list! Here’s what member @Chrischia had to say about their photo, ‘Last Friday, a grand view of the aurora near Canberra at Williamsdale Road, NSW. It
would have been better had the clouds not rolled in, but still a sight to reckon with!’ I couldn’t agree more, member @Chrischia! Thank you for sharing this with us. If you have any photographs you would like to be featured in our newsletters, post them in our photography forum here!

While there is no actual bunny that once served as the iconic hare, the legendary egg-laying rabbit is said to have been brought to America by German immigrants in the 1700s, according to History. Children would make nests for Oschter Haws to leave behind eggs, meaning the Easter bunny originated in Germany!
