Dear students, As I prepare to take office as Duquesne’s 14th president on July 1, 2026, I am excited to share some important updates on my transition planning. Since I was announced as Duquesne’s next leader, I have been working with leaders across our University community to ensure that, together, we can hit the ground running on day one. In recent weeks, I’ve been on a listening tour—stopping by faculty and staff meetings, hosting conversations with alumni and community partners, and talking with students across campus. Hearing directly from so many of you has been both meaningful and motivating, and I’m grateful for the thoughtful and honest feedback I’ve received thus far. In the coming weeks, I’ll be hosting a number of student-centered opportunities as part of the listening tour:
Dates and locations for some sessions are still being finalized, and additional opportunities to participate will be added throughout the semester. Please keep an eye out for upcoming communications with more information. If an in-person session doesn’t fit your schedule, or if you prefer to share your ideas anonymously, you can also use the confidential Qualtrics survey available on the presidential transition website. My goal with these sessions – and with the broader listening tour – is to create an open space where you feel comfortable sharing your honest feedback. I want to hear what you’re thinking, whether that’s suggestions for me in my new role, ideas that will propel Duquesne’s future, or things we need to improve on. As I stated when the Board announced my appointment as president, it is one of the greatest honors of my life to serve as Duquesne’s next leader. I’m excited for the chance to meet many of you in the weeks and months ahead. Thank you for all you contribute to this community every day. Kind regards, David David J. Dausey, Ph.D., Ed.D.
