ANAB Logo Updates

Contributed by Kelly Abbott, Director of Certification & Technical Services

Based on ANAB/ANSI’s integration efforts, they have released updated logos to include this integration of the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), a wholly owned subsidiary of ANSI.

EAGLE has updated all materials that use these logos, so you will begin to see the new logos on documentation moving forward. The primary impact is to Certificates, which will be updated as they are being naturally reissued or recertified. The deadline for all certificates to carry the updated logos is by January 1, 2025.

As a reminder, the guidelines for use are included in the EAGLE F9 Forms and in ANAB’s PR 1018 document.

Client action needed: If you use the ANAB logo in any of your marketing materials or website, please obtain the new Logo from EAGLE’s Documents, Form-9 and update your materials using the new logo.

In EMIS, go to Documents>Client Documents>Forms and then the F9.

See some examples of use of the new logos below:

IATF Sanctioned Interpretations (SIs) Updates

Contributed by Caitlin Jefferson, Certification Manager

There were several new Sanctioned Interpretations and an FAQ released that were effective June 2022. Please see below overview to ensure your processes are updated accordingly. Additionally, please be sure to subscribe to the IATF mailing list at https://www.iatfglobaloversight.org/ to ensure you’re notified of all updates.

IATF SI 23--ensures material requirements (including regulatory) are conforming under section 4.4.1.1.

Impact to QMS (not a new requirement): Regulatory compliance included when determining conformance of materials used in the manufactured product. An example of this may include evidence of ROHS compliance, Conflict Material compliance, etc., with reference and compliance to 8.4.2.2.

IATF SI 24--Annex A control plan note for highly automated processes--acceptable references or linkages to the system that manages the detailed process control information.

Impact to QMS: For manufacturing processes controlled through an automated process, the automated process controls can be reference in the control plan allowing for manageable and current information that mirrors the actual processes being utilized.

IATF SI 25--Annex A control plan--common control plan designation is allowed for multiple part numbers (listed on single control plan).

Impact to QMS: a list of covered part numbers (that use the same control plan) residing outside the control plan.  The control plan can make reference to the common control plan designation/list.  This allows one control plan for multiple parts (that use the same control plan).

FAQ 29--defines risk as being a driver for the contingency planning process.

Impact to QMS: When developing contingency plans, a risk analysis (internal and external) needs to be included to help drive the assessment of failure likelihood and impact of that failure to the customers’ requirements.

If you have questions on any of the above information, please reach out to Caitlin Jefferson.
