Faculty and staff colleagues,

Last month, I announced the launch of my president-elect listening tour and invited you to join a series of open small‑group sessions. I want to take a moment to thank you for the extraordinary response. The enthusiasm I’ve encountered across campus has been both energizing and deeply encouraging. Within minutes of the first announcement, every available session had filled. That level of interest speaks volumes about the pride you take in this institution and your desire to help shape what comes next. I cannot overstate how grateful I am for the candor, creativity and care you have brought to these early discussions.

I am pleased to share an additional opportunity for faculty and staff to participate in small‑group listening sessions. These two new sessions will be held on March 16 and 17 in the Hogan Dining Hall, and you can sign up through this Doodle poll. As before, space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Given the limited space in these sessions, if you’ve already attended one of my small-group sessions, I encourage you to allow others the chance to participate so that as many voices as possible can be heard.

If the sessions fill quickly, please know that more opportunities will follow throughout the spring. In addition to the small‑group listening sessions, I have been hosting larger group sessions in units across the University. Please be on the lookout for information about a session for your respective school, college or unit, as well as additional opportunities to participate throughout the coming months.

I also encourage you to continue using the confidential Qualtrics survey on the presidential transition website, which offers a way to share thoughts, ideas and concerns at any time.

I am deeply thankful for all that you’ve shared with me thus far, and I look forward to continuing these important conversations over the coming months.

Kind regards,

David
