Welcome to the August edition of the Big Group Hug Bulletin!
This month brought new beginnings. We moved into our new HQ and reopened for goods donations and requests. Thank you once again for your understanding and patience during the relocation period.
We're in the second half of the calendar year and things are not slowing down!
2022 / 2023 Impact
Thanks to you, our incredible supporters, in the 2022 / 2023 financial year we helped 6,022 babies & children, provided over 120,000 items to children & families in need and saved over 95 tons from landfill.
Save the Date for our Spring Open Day
Join us from 10am on Saturday 2 September for our Spring into Spring Open Day! Check out the behind-the-scenes action, how your generous donations help kids in need and tour our new HQ in Thomastown. There'll be tours, refreshments and a raffle that's not to be missed and only available on the day. Keep an eye on our website and socials for further information.
Volunteer Open Day
Have you been thinking about volunteering but wanted to get a little more insight before you 'Spring into Action'? (yep, we're springing all over the place!) Join us on Wednesday 13 September where you can see firsthand the impactful work you could be involved with! Explore our charity, meet our committed volunteers, and learn more about the vital work we do providing essential material aid to families in crisis across Melbourne. It's only a 3hr commitment each week and a great social environment!
Foundation Day
Nelson Alexander's Charitable Foundation is dedicated to supporting local causes in the communities they serve. Foundation Day, on September 9th, is a special event that exemplifies this commitment to giving back. In 2023 the focus is on addressing food insecurity in Melbourne.
We are thrilled to be one of the lucky recipients this year! Big Group Hug will receive Foundation Day proceeds from the Reservoir office which will be used to purchase much needed infant formula.
How to get to the Thomastown warehouse
Our new HQ address is: 12/337 Settlement Rd, Thomastown. We're located in the Mint Place Business Park (enter driveway where you see Harcourts Rata & Co).
Access is also available from Dunstans Ct, behind Bunnings Thomastown (enter via the driveway to the left of Meat Direct).
