Good morning, members, and welcome to another fabulous Wednesday! Can you believe it’s already May? Time sure flies by when you’re having fun. Speaking of fun, did you do anything fun this weekend? I (Vella) did and can’t wait to tell you all about it.
Last Saturday, I did something I’ve wanted to do for ages but always thought I was too old for it. I finally visited an aquarium! It was an unplanned adventure, but I’m glad I did it. I took my nephews with me, which was a fantastic experience. I mean, who doesn’t love seeing penguins up close and personal? We also watched an incredible show featuring sea lions and other animals doing amazing tricks. I have to admit, the kid in me was beyond happy! It was such a refreshing and exciting experience that made me realise that we’re never too old to indulge the inner child in us. So, members, I have another fun question for you all: What is something that you’ve always wanted to do but thought you were too old for? Maybe it’s something you used to love doing or a new hobby or interest that you think you’re too old to start. Share your thoughts, and let’s inspire each other to step out of our comfort zones and try something new!
Now, let’s dive into today’s newsletter, shall we? First up, as always, we bring you the best deals from Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, and IGA. Check out the fantastic discounts and take advantage of the savings while they last!
Next, we have a riddle that seems to have us all scratching our heads! Let’s see if you can unravel it:
In the grocery store, Sal met his only daughter’s only husband’s mother-in-law’s only mother-in-law. Who was she?
Hmm, quite the conundrum, isn’t it? If you think you’ve cracked the code, head on over to our riddle masters thread here. Those who solve it correctly will get a special shout-out in tomorrow's newsletter!
Now, let’s move on and find out what’s happening across the world and around Australia today!

Who here remembers the iconic beauty product, Oil of Ulan? Just thinking about the scent brings back memories of hugs from grandma and cheek kisses from mum. It was known as Oil of Ulay in the UK, and Oil of Olaz in other European countries. In 1999, it became known as just Olay. Its texture was like cool water on the skin - light, refreshing, and incredibly hydrating. The scent was unique and exotic but not simpering and always felt like a luxurious treat for the skin. It’s a scent that transports us back to simpler days and reminds us of the importance of self-care. Do you use this product? Or maybe you remember your mother or grandmother using it? Tell us all about it here on the forum. And, of course, if you have other memories you’d like to share with us, post them here on our Nostalgia/Yesterday’s Australia forum!

The Canals of Copenhagen
Today’s stunning photo is thanks to member @dragabagalong. It’s a photo of the breathtaking canals of Copenhagen with the caption: ‘Probably the most famous of the canals in Copenhagen, this is the Nyhavn Canal. It’s in the city centre and is only around 500 metres long. It’s lined with entertainment and eating outlets. There are a lot of free walking tours offered in Copenhagen, and it is a lovely city
to walk around. Our own Crown Princess Mary lives not far from here.’ This photo perfectly captures the charm and vibrancy of Nyhavn Canal, with its brightly coloured buildings and picturesque boats bobbing along the calm waters. Thanks again, member @dragabagalong for sharing this lovely photo with us. If you have a photo you want to share, please feel free to post on our Photography
forum!
