NEWS UPDATE1 September 2023 Publishers noteAnd just like that, we have hit Spring. It only seems like yesterday we were wrapping up Summer and here we are on the brink of kicking off another boating season. Plagiarising 100% from the Tourism Australia website, it says “Australia’s spring is characterised by sunny days and cool nights. Jacarandas and wildflowers are in bloom, creating a spectacular display of colour in many of the country’s cities, such as Canberra and Sydney, as well as in regional areas around Perth. It’s a great time to take advantage of the cooler daytime temperatures in the outback and the last few months (September and October) of the Northern Territory’s dry season”. It should also say, it’s a great time for boating. I am fortunate to be within a stone’s throw of a few boat ramps and a marina. One ramp I can walk to, and the other two are a couple of minutes in the car, as is the marina. Loitering around them gives me a good insight to the activity on my local harbour. There is no question people want to be on the water despite the weather. Research has shown that Aussies boat all year round. And whilst it is more so the case as you travel to the northern parts of our country, Aussies love their time on the water no matter where they are in Australia, all year round.
