Measure B Newsletter

This newsletter is to help inform our Marin Community College District community of the District’s progress on the implementation of the voter‐approved Measure B bond. The improvements made possible by this bond allow us to continue our commitment to educational excellence in providing equitable opportunities and fostering success for all members of our diverse community.

Projects recently completed or in closeout:

Performing Arts: Stage Floor Replacement | Kentfield Campus

This project provided several small capital repairs to the Performing Arts building, including a stage floor replacement.

Status:

Punch list complete
Cleaning of auditorium seats complete
Project completed early and under budget

Athletic Synthetic Turf Fields and Restroom/Storage Facilities - Soccer, Volleyball, Futsal | Kentfield Campus

This project involved replacing the existing natural grass field with synthetic turf fields with associated markings for various sports. It also includes a restroom facility, an addition to the gym complex for storage of equipment, score boards, tennis courts, and multi-purpose turf in the PE complex.

Status:

Maintenance period completed August 3, 2018
Closeout documents under review
Notice of completion scheduled for August 15, 2018

Projects currently under construction:

Athletic Synthetic Turf Fields and Restroom/Storage Facilities - Phase 2 Baseball Field | Kentfield Campus

This project replaces the existing natural grass baseball field with a synthetic turf baseball field, as well as construction of a restroom facility, score board and perimeter fencing.

Status:

Cutting and grading of field subgrade
Soil off-haul
Review of electrical and fire alarm scope of work, layout for trenching

Organic Farm/Garden Enhancements | Indian Valley Campus

This project includes the construction of a new prefabricated, pre-DSA (Division of State Architect) approved classroom building for the Organic Farm & Garden's associated programs and demonstrations.

Status:

Concrete paths and drives complete
Classroom electrical complete
Relocation of greenhouse and shade structure in progress
New farm fence installation in progress
Kitchen appliance installation ongoing
Furniture delivery in August
Demonstration kitchen complete in September

Pomo Cluster | Indian Valley Campus

This project involves Buildings 1-7, and includes building envelope improvements, window replacements, mechanical repairs, flooring, painting, and other small capital repairs.

Status:

Phase 1: Window painting and punch list complete
Phase 2: Buildings 3, 4, 5 and 7 interior renovations. Construction started August 13, 2018.
