NATURAL CAPITAL ACCOUNTING Natural Capital Accounting UpdateThe Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) project began in 2020 with the aim to empower Western Australian farmers to measure and understand their natural capital (NC) assets, thereby informing their decision-making processes and enhancing communication of their environmental performance to stakeholders. Through collaborative partnerships and on-ground feedback, Perth NRM has contributed significantly to the development of an on-farm NCA measurement and verification framework, which will support targeted investments in farming practices aimed at restoring and enhancing NC. There will be a project summary report available very soon on the Perth NRM and RegenWA websites. It will include the project’s key outcomes and learnings, methodology, results and engagement. This Measuring On-Farm Natural Capital in Western Australia Project was delivered in partnership with Integrated Futures, and made possible through support and funding from Commonland and the WA State NRM Office Community Stewardship Grants.
