Firstly, we have seen growing interest in our online question and answer sessions, so we have added in a few extra dates – more on this below. Secondly, we have had some great questions on the safeguarding Mātauranga Māori outcome area of our Fund – so the amazing team here have produced a quick video that addresses some of the most common pātai. The video is included below and is also available on our website. Thirdly, with more than one hundred Expressions of Interest submitted so far, we are starting to get a better sense of how the proposals are shaping up relative to each other. We have provided a bit of advice to guide applicants below, but the key thing I want to emphasise is that the initiatives with the best chance of securing funding will be those that have a lasting positive impact on the sustainability and resilience of people and organisations in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors. We have a growing number of initiatives on the table that demonstrate strong potential in this area – initiatives that, for example, equip people and organisations with the tools they need to reach new audiences and generate additional income. This is what we are looking for – initiatives that people and organisations in the arts, culture and heritage sectors will look back on in the years to come and say, “now, that made a real difference”. Finally, we are hearing that some people are pushing hard to get their proposal in for the first decision round. I want to be clear that our aim is to fund the strongest possible set of proposals across all four decision rounds. So, please submit your full proposal when it is ready. This would mean submitting an Expression of Interest by next Wednesday 24 August. If you need more time, there will be two further opportunities to submit your Full Proposal. You can submit by 18 October 2022 to be considered from the second evaluation round, or by 24 February 2023 to be considered from the third evaluation round onwards. Please note, Expressions of Interest for ALL decision rounds must be submitted by 7 September. The best time to submit your full proposal is when it’s ready. The first evaluation round is best suited to projects that are already well-advanced in their planning. Our aim is to fund the strongest proposals across all four evaluation rounds. There is more detail about the key dates for the Regeneration Fund in the Information for Applicants Guide. Innovation Fund decisionsPeople who applied for the Innovation Fund at the Te Urungi event in Tamaki Mākaurau will receive funding decisions by the end of next week (26 August). Expressions of Interest are open until 7 September.
