May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. Speech language pathologists, also known as speech therapists, are part of our inpatient and outpatient rehab teams. They identify, assess, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders. They are an integral part of many of our service lines, including neurosciences and oncology. They work with patients experiencing articulation problems, receptive and expressive language issues, swallowing problems and cognitive disorders. Pictured above on the left are inpatient speech pathologists Aisha Farooq and Anna Hoffman. Pictured above on the right is outpatient SLP Carol Wilson. It is also National EMS Week - honoring those who help and provide hope where emergency care begins. Click here to read about others celebrating this month.
Brazos 6 Patient: "I would like to say that if I ever have to return to the hospital, just make sure I get on this floor. They were the sweetest and kindest staff." Main 4 West Patient: "I cannot express how well taken care of I felt. The staff (even the maintenance guy) was polite and kind." Main 6 West Patient: "The staff was very comfortable, friendly and caring. The people showed they care about what they do.
Everybody was very nice. May God bless each off them for being so helpful to my sister. Again thank you so much. I wish there more people like this in other hospitals. Not just get the eight hours, 12 hours and be done."
