PLASTIC BAG RECYCLING: WHAT GOES IN, WHAT STAYS OUT

The Village offers plastic bag recycling behind Village Hall through a partnership with Aargus Plastics. Only plastic grocery bags and clean Ziploc-type bags are accepted. Ziploc bags from produce or fruit packaging are not allowed. Please do not place Amazon packaging, bubble wrap, wrappers from paper towels/toilet paper, or unrelated items such as toys or electronics in the bins. If too many non-recyclables are found, the entire container cannot be recycled. Help us keep this program effective by recycling right!

NORTHBROOK DOWNTOWN: A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS

The Village recently celebrated the completion of the first phase of the Downtown Infrastructure and Streetscape Improvements with a ribbon cutting that brought together residents, business owners, and Village staff. There was excitement as the community gathered to recognize this milestone and look ahead to the future of downtown.

The improvements represent the beginning of a long-term investment in infrastructure and creating a safer, more welcoming, and vibrant space for all. Guests enjoyed celebrating the completed streetscape, supporting local businesses, and imagining what's still to come. Chip clips, handed out at the event, are available for residents to pick up during office hours at Village Hall, at the Village Manager's Office and Finance Office windows - while supplies last!
