Enhanced Replant Program The Enhanced Replant Program provides support to help wine grape, berry, and tree fruit producers replace existing acreage with climate-resilient varieties that produce in-demand, premium fruit. The Enhanced Replant Program, funded through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, seeks to increase the competitiveness and resiliency of the BC agri-food economy in domestic and global markets by providing direct funding support to producers looking to replace damaged, diseased and low-producing vines, plants and trees with climate resilient varieties that produce in-demand, premium fruit. Existing blueberry and raspberry growers are eligible for replant funding through Stream 3. Existing blueberry and cranberry growers are eligible for removal/renewal funding through Stream 4. The application intake for Streams 3 and 4 opens on December 5th and closes December 12th, 2024. Knowledge and Technology The last day to apply for the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Program is Friday December 13th at 4:00PM. New for this intake: Applications will be adjudicated on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage interested applicants to submit your application soon. Agriculture and Food Export Program, an initiative supporting B.C.’s agriculture, food, and beverage exporters in growing their sales, reducing market risks, and building long-term sustainability. New Research Briefs A study conducted in Delta, B.C. found that enrolment in agricultural stewardship programs improved on-farm climate mitigation and adaptation. Specifically, farms experienced an increase in soil organic carbon stocks by 60-70% and improved soil water regulation. Agricultural stewardship programs are a great way to drive positive environmental change as they help farmers cover costs associated with adopting management practices such as growing hedgerows and cover crops.
