Marion Celebrates returns this monthAfter a four-year hiatus, the free, biennial Marion Celebrates festival kicks off at Glandore Community Centre on Saturday 18 November, with the theme: ‘Many Cultures, One Earth’. From 1.30 pm to 5 pm, you'll get to enjoy family-friendly activities including face painting, children’s storytelling, line dancing, and chalk drawing. The main stage includes Sun of Africa Drum and Dance Ensemble, the Cartel Afinke Latin Band, and more. You'll also get to grab a bite to eat or drink from a variety of food trucks. Truckloads of fun at Touch a TruckOur recent Touch a Truck event was held for the first time at the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre in October. Thanks to all of you who came down for the event, supporting the many local organisations that keep our community running smoothy. A special thanks to the many people involved, including our food and drink stalls, those providing activities and entertainment, and the very many vehicles we had, including emergency services, community members, and local organisations.
