Measure G NewsletterJanuary 2022The Measure G Newsletter is a semi‐annual publication to help inform our Ohlone College community, as well as our friends and neighbors, of the College’s progress on the implementation of voter‐approved Measure G projects. Academic Core Buildings (ACB) Parking Lots B & C The parking lot B & C restoration was a follow-on project to the Swing Space decommissioning project. DSA approved the design in November 2020 which included clearing, grubbing, grading and drainage, installing new pavement, berms, curbs, gutters, striping, signage, parking permit machines and video surveillance cameras. A general contractor was awarded the project and work began in January 2021. The project was substantially complete in June 2021 however additional work was added to the project and material delays due to supply chain issues pushed the project schedule. The project’s final completed in December 2021. Building 18 Pathway Complete The Building 18 ADA pathway project design was completed in June 2021. A general contractor was awarded the project in September 2021 and work began in October 2021 due to COVID exposure delay. The scope of work included site fencing, demolition of the existing pathway, clear / grub existing vegetation grading and installing the new ADA pathway, handrail and metal deck cover. Building 5 Renovation Project The building 5 project requires demolition of hazardous materials, utilities, the existing kitchen and food serving areas, HVAC ductwork, existing walls, ceilings, flooring, doors/hardware and light fixtures. The new work on Building 5 includes installation of new walls, ceilings, HVAC ductwork, utilities, kitchen equipment, lighting, doors/hardware, paving, landscaping, handrails, an interior refresh of the elevator and finish work. Measure G was approved by district voters in November 2010. The Ohlone Community College District is grateful for the community’s support in funding necessary repairs, accessibility upgrades, and new construction projects to better serve the instructional needs of our students.
