Ive been lucky enough to work with Brent Ray Fraser for many years here in Vancouver and he is a true muse, to say the least. As we venture into one of our biggest creative projects yet; re-envisioning the iconic character of Popeye, I thought it best to share some highlights of past collaborations.

A full scope of our shoots together can be seen here;

A bit more on BRF:

Brent Ray Fraser is a Canadian performance artist renowned for his provocative and unconventional approach to art. A graduate of Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Fraser merges fine art with performance, often using his own body as both subject and medium. His work challenges traditional artistic norms, blending elements of eroticism, humour, and conceptual theatre.

Fraser gained attention for creating paintings using his genitals as tools, a method he began exploring in 2009. He has produced large-scale works, including renditions of iconic images like the Mona Lisa and Warhol's Marilyn Monroe, employing this technique. His performances are often conducted live, sometimes in the nude, adding a layer of exhibitionism and performance art to his creations. These acts have been showcased at various events, such as the Taboo Sex Show in Vancouver and the Whistler Pride & Ski Festival.

Beyond live performances, Fraser has expanded his reach through online platforms, offering live webcam sessions where audiences can witness his creative process. His work has sparked discussions about the boundaries between art and pornography, leading to censorship on some social media platforms. Despite this, Fraser continues to push artistic boundaries, asserting that his work is a form of self-expression and liberation.

Fraser's dedication to his craft is evident in his commitment to physical fitness and performance, often likening his body to an instrument essential to his art. He has stated his intention to continue this form of expression indefinitely, viewing it as an integral part of his identity as an artist.
