Between the Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian Communities Committee and the Subcommittee on Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias of the university’s Jewish Advisory Committee, there have been opportunities for the SLAC community to understand and engage in dialogue. It has also been inspiring to see the role Stanford University has played in supporting organizations like the GEM Consortium that further diversity in STEM. In 2022, GEM recognized Stanford for consistently hosting a significant number of fellows from historically underrepresented backgrounds who are pursuing doctorates in STEM. If you would like to learn more about hosting a GEM Fellow this summer, please contact me. The selection process for summer fellows is already underway. And, as you will see throughout this e-newsletter, there are a range of opportunities to celebrate Black History Month at SLAC and at Stanford. Enjoy!
