Tuesday Edition
G’day, members! Gosh, my Aussie slang is truly kicking in at the moment. I’m down at my late Grandfather’s farm and it really brings out the ‘inner Aussie’ in me. I think whenever ‘city folk’ visit the country, they do their best to fit in. You know, say your ‘g’days’ and try to seem like a ‘true blue Aussie’ (well I do anyway). I even wear old work boots. It’s a little embarrassing, I know.
I absolutely love the country. I grew up part-time here and I just adored it. I have so many fond memories of just running around the property doing who-knows-what and no one knowing where I was. I’d just play in the paddock with my siblings or cousins and we’d be outside for hours on end. I know not everyone will be able to relate to this but there’s just something about the country that soothes my soul. It’s so much calmer than the city, it’s wonderful to be able to see the stars at night and it be pitch-black because there’s no light pollution. I know that idea might freak some people out but there’s such solitude in the peacefulness. I’m not entirely sure how to explain it, although I hope you can all find some kind of peace where you are today. Whether that be in a book, a cup of coffee, some leftovers from Christmas, or a chat with a loved one.
Enough from me though, what’s happening across Australia and around the world today?

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ is a lovely Christmas memory brought to you by member @maryfern33. ‘My Christmas memories go way back to India when I was a kid. We didn't have much to celebrate in the way we would have liked to, but with what we had, we made the most of it. Come Christmas time, shopping was first on the list. How we loved roaming round the shops finding it more and more difficult as to what to buy, what colour, what design and, of course, the all important, price. Finally with shopping out of the way, we would get a branch to decorate, strip the leaves and paint the tree all white. What a pleasure it was to hang all the decorations and the brightly
coloured baubles and the lights making the tree look truly magical. I remember the residents from the neighbouring houses coming around just to look at our tree! How proud we were of our simple but lovely tree!’
This isn’t even the full memory! To read the rest of @maryfern33 Christmas in India’s memory click here. It honestly sounds like the most colourful, fun, and delicious Christmas!

Day Break
Wow. How incredible is this photo taken by member @Joka? I absolutely love watching the sunrise, so this gorgeous photo really captured my attention. Member @Joka said, ‘Day break from Lavender Bay, Sydney. Taken on my iPhone X Wednesday 9/11/22 while waiting to start a kayaking tour with Sydney by Kayak. The tour is to catch the sunrise on the harbour and departs around 5:30AM.’ Thank you so much for sharing this with us @Joka, I hope the kayak tour was as good as the sunrise!
