Today’s Yesterday’s Australia segment is thanks to member @lwhitbread, who shared a lovely memory of going camping with the family. ‘My most precious memory of being a small child is camping with the family at Lake Tabourie. On Boxing day, mum and dad would pack up the car with all the camping gear, four kids and the dog. The kids could choose one toy they had received for Christmas as the room in the car was limited. We had an old canvas tent, tilly lamps, camp stretchers and a portable gas stove. Our grandparents would come down for a
few days to spend with us. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, snorkelling, and making many memories together. We have no phones, iPads, or computers for entertainment, just each other to spend quality time together. We also met and made friends with people from all over Australia. I still reminisce about these special times.’ Read the rest of their story here.
This is such a lovely memory! There’s nothing like camping with the family and enjoying nature and each other’s company. The smell of the campfire, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, and the laughter of the family are all precious memories that will stay with us forever.

Alcatraz prison
How amazing is this photo posted by member @dragabagalog in our photography forum? It looks like a scary place, doesn't it? It was once one of the most notorious prisons in the United States. It housed some of the most hardened criminals. But today, it's a popular tourist destination. People come from all over the world to see this historic place. What a fascinating piece of history! Thanks,
@dragabagalong, for sharing this one with us!

Crickets hear with tiny ears located on their legs, and they aren't the only insects with ears on their legs. Grasshoppers, katydids, and locusts have them too.
