They looked at criteria like patient satisfaction scores, nursing career opportunities, benefits and ratings from nurse reviewers. HMH was ranked #7 and HMSL was ranked #9. Town Hall Highlight: Daily Management SystemThis week we are highlighting our Daily Management System - something we focused on during our June Town Hall meetings. When the hospital introduced Performance Excellence, one element was Daily Management Boards. The deadline to complete your Houston Methodist System FPR in-services is Aug. 23, 2023. ![]() Neuroscience & Spinal Disorders SymposiumHMSL is hosting a Neuroscience and Spinal Disorders Symposium this Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25 at the Sugar Land Marriott Town Square. Neurological and spinal disorders affect more than 100 million Americans. This in-person event has been eagerly anticipated since COVID forced the cancellation of our 2020 symposium. Support Those Impacted by the Hawaii WildfiresAs the world continues to watch the impact of the deadliest U.S. wildfires in more than 100 years, many feel compelled to support the Maui community. Fit Club Winners 2023Employee Wellness recently hosted their annual Fit Club Challenge with employees to determine who is the fittest team at HMSL. Events included challenges like longest plank, most push-ups in one minute, furthest distance biked in two minutes and the list goes on. The challenge ran from June 12 - July 28. The National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) states that Health Unit Coordinators are, “Referred to as the unit secretary, unit clerk, service specialist, and information coordinator.” Health Unit Coordinators also perform non-clinical functions within various hospital departments. From the triage to the labor and delivery room - everyone (staff, nurses and doctors) were great! I can't express how grateful I am for the labor and delivery team. Dr. Khairah, his entire team and Courtney (labor and delivery RN) were all amazing! Kudos! Main 4 West Patient: "In the heart and vascular center, the nurses were excellent If you have heart trouble, this is the place to go. In the surgical area, the nurses are first class." Brazos 4 Patient: "Everybody here was very friendly and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about anything at all. Each time I was given any meds, they always told me what I was being given.
