IN MEMORY OF JUDY HUGHES

It is with deep sorrow that we reflect on the passing of Northbrook Historical Society President and resident Judy Hughes, whose unwavering commitment to celebrating our shared history is an enduring gift that surrounds us every day.

As we pause to reflect on her contributions to our community, we are re-sharing the March 14, 2023, presentation of a Key to the Village of Northbrook to Judy Hughes during Women’s History Month recognizing her as a champion for our community.  Click here to read an excerpt from that presentation.

Our thoughts are with her friends and family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A NEW YEAR, A NEW LOOK AT NORTHBROOK'S HISTORY

As we turn the page on a new year, we’re also counting down to Northbrook’s 125th anniversary in 2026. In this edition of the Northbrook Neighbor Spotlight, Elyse, a lifelong resident and board member of the Northbrook Historical Society, invites residents to see the village in a new way by uncovering the history hidden in everyday places.

From familiar intersections to meaningful artifacts, she shares stories that reveal how Northbrook’s past continues to shape the community we know today. Click below to watch the video and start exploring the stories that surround us.
