So MANY Kittens!

Adoptable Cats

Holy Kitten Season Batman! The summer of 2025 has turned into a banner year for FFRD as far as kittens go. We have more adoptable cats and kittens in foster care than we have ever had before, and we are adding more to our website and Petfinder each day! Please help us spread the word, so we can find these sweet felines their forever homes! Check out our website and follow us on social media (Instagram: @ForgottenFelinesRescue and Facebook:  @ForgottenFelinesRescueDenver) to meet all of the furbabies who are waiting patiently for their families. AND SHARE SHARE SHARE.

Mission Moment

Speaking of sharing, we are actively recruiting volunteers and board members. If you have a spare hour or two each week to share, we would love to help you fill your time. We are looking for people to help with data entry, social media, colony feeding, cat and kitten transportation and more. And of course, we are always looking for foster families who can help our furry friends adjust to being housecats while we are finding homes for them. If you are interested in sharing your talents and time with us, please fill out our volunteer interest form online or email Volunteer@ForgottenFelinesDenver.org.

Fundraiser SUCCESS!

Thank you for your support!

We wanted to thank everyone for their donation to our Krispy Kreme for Kittens campaign! The funds raised will really support our work caring for rescued and feral cats and kittens. Incidentally, almost 90% of our expenditures this year have gone to veterinary expenses. Ironically, all of those donuts were instrumental in helping us pay for cat and kitten dental care (as well as vaccines, emergency care and spay/neuter costs). If you missed our Krispy Kreme fundraiser but still want to help Forgotten Felines Rescue Denver out financially, don't fret. We are always accepting tax-deductible donations through Pay Pal and Colorado Gives. Visit our website to donate or learn more about other ways to contribute, and stay tuned for Colorado Gives Day in November.

    Reunited at Last!

During the first week of July, one of our long-time volunteers saw a Nextdoor post about a sweet little black cat on someone’s front porch. The Nextdoor post said they had taken it to a veterinarian and the cat had an unregistered microchip. Our volunteer offered to come and scan the microchip again and backtrack the chip to the original organization associated with its purchase, hoping to find the owner that way, but the Nextdoor poster didn't respond. Luckily all was not lost. Within a day or two, our volunteer noticed a different neighbor post again on Nextdoor about a black cat at their home.

Our volunteer reached out to the second Nextdoor poster, explaining the strategy to find the organization associated with the microchip. The friendly neighbor agreed and invited our volunteer over to scan the kitty who was temporarily hanging out in their home office. It turns out that the chip WAS registered to an owner though Home Again. Our volunteer contacted the cat owner who was so excited to learn that her kitty had been found, she rushed right over with her young daughter. It turns out that kitty had been staying with the owner's sister while they were moving, but had gotten out through a window. Kitty had been missing for nearly a month.

This story underscores the importance of microchipping your pets and keeping your profile with the microchip company up-to-date, even when you plan to keep them indoors. Forgotten Felines Rescue microchips and registers all of our cats and kittens as part of our adoption process.
