Sunday Edition
Ah, Sunday mornings. The best morning of the week if you ask me! I (Maddie) plan on having a nice relaxing morning. I have coffee plans with my gorgeous family and then I’m going to spend the day doing some Christmas baking. I’m in two minds about Christmas baking, members. I love it because I really love cooking, but I tell you what, whipping up 3 or 4 different Christmas desserts in a tiny kitchen on a hot day can be quite the experience, but the Chocolate Florentines, the White Christmas, the Rocky Road and the White Chocolate, Pistachio and Cranberry Biscuits make it all worth it! I then pack these little treats into boxes for my loved ones and give them out so everyone can enjoy them over Christmas because nothing says I love you like a box of baked treats… It’s also a very affordable present option!
Now, enough about me and my Christmas baking because I have a simple but stellar quote of the week for you all…
‘Step by step, day by day.’
Simple but beautiful. I feel like everyone gets to this time of the year and we are all so busy and in such a rush to get things done that we forget what this time of year is all about, and that’s spending quality time with your loved ones. I will be the first to admit that I am THE WORST at this. I run around like a headless chook trying to get all my work done, get all the Christmas presents bought and wrapped, the cooking done, cleaning done, catch-ups done and honestly my list goes on, and you know what happens? I end up feeling really overwhelmed and cranky. So, if you’re anything like me this is a reminder to just take it step by step, and day by day. You can’t do everything, but you can put your time and energy into the things that really matter and that isn’t presents or cooking extravagant meals. That’s grabbing a coffee with a loved one, calling an old friend, or sending a text
to that person who you’ve been thinking about. They’ll appreciate it more than you know.
Let’s jump into the news then shall we? What happened across Australia and around the world this week?
