Update: Refugee and migrant background research collection and researcher tautoko

Last year we held two hui for refugee-background and migrant-background researchers and evaluators. And earlier this year, we surveyed participants to find out how Community Research can continue to tautoko their mahi.

The survey showed there is a strong and growing need for researchers from these communities to connect, share and advocate for collective action.  Community Research will offer more informal hui this year.  Dates to be advised.

Sharing the stories of our researcher whānau - Dr Dianne Wepa

The disparity is so huge that you can’t not be involved, especially when it’s your whānau that has been affected; you have this inner drive, as Māori, to keep persevering.”

Dr Dianne Wepa talked to Community Research about her background, journey and research into mental health and Māori whānau engagement with healthcare.
