SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM SAAFE

As we approach the end of the year, I would like to sincerely thank our community for your continued support, collaboration and commitment to tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

AMR remains one of the most complex challenges facing human, animal and environmental health. The progress SAAFE has made in 2025 would not have been possible without the dedication of our researchers, industry partners, policymakers and collaborators working together across the One Health spectrum.

This year has been one of real momentum and connection. Through our ongoing projects, SAAFE continues to bring together researchers, decision-makers and industry partners to share data, align capability and translate AMR research into real-world impact.

Our AMR Research Roadshow connected our community across Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, strengthening partnerships and building shared capabilities.

We launched our Kickstart Projects, supporting new collaborations and accelerating impact-focused AMR research, and we welcomed our first six PhDs to the SAAFE Scholar cohort who will be joining our six SAAFE Foundation Fellows.

Planning is also well underway for EDAR 8, which will provide a vital forum to connect science, policy and practice, and showcase the strength and diversity of AMR research in Australia and the region. Early bird registrations are now open to secure your place and be part of shaping the future of environmental AMR.
