HMSL is excited to bring back Family and Friends Photo Day! After positive feedback last year, we are again offering professional photos right on campus Saturday, Oct. 7 for just $35. To sign up, simply click on the background of your choice to sign up and reserve your spot. Flu Vaccine Campaign
Houston Methodist's systemwide flu vaccine campaign runs now through Nov. 2. You can schedule your flu shot through the Employee Health portal. Click here to find the answers to common questions about our flu campaign.
Pathway to Unparalleled
All Houston Methodist employees are strongly encouraged to register for Pathway to Unparalleled (PTU). Employee sessions will continue through October. Click here for instructions to register. The 90-minute interactive class is on unparalleled safety.
Cybercriminals Impersonating HM Employees
IT has received reports cybercriminals are impersonating HM employees by sending fake text messages. These text messages appear as though they are coming from Dr. Boom and other executives, but the phone numbers are fake. In the message, the cybercriminals ask you to purchase gift cards to surprise other employees. Read more here.

Houston Methodist is once again joining the Komen Houston Race for the Cure. This year’s event is Saturday, Oct. 7, at Sam Houston Park. Click here to join the team or make a donation.
- 6 a.m. - Race Day Registration Opens
- 7:45 a.m. - Opening ceremonies and memorial bird release
- 8 a.m. - 5k start
- 9:30 a.m. - Post race celebration
Houston Methodist wants to recognize employees who are breast cancer survivors, whether you were just diagnosed yesterday or many years ago, by printing your name on a banner that the team will carry during the walk. If you would like to have your name on the banner, fill out this survey. Please submit your name by Friday, Sept. 22, to be included.
HMSL Employee Parking Changes
Thank you to everybody who registered their vehicle under the new parking guidelines. The barrier arm gates are now active. You will need your badge to access employee parking, so please have it ready when approaching the gates. Only one vehicle can enter at a time. If you registered your EZ Tag, it may take a couple of weeks to be active. We thank you in advance for your patience. September is the official month for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. It is the fifth leading cause of cancer death in women in the United States. These cancers often go undetected until they’ve reached advanced stages. September is also National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about prostate cancer and generate support for those affected by the disease. Please give my appreciation to the emergency department at Sienna for their patience. They were excellent following up with their referral and transfer arrangements to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. I realize that they had difficulty getting into my veins, but it was not their fault - it was my condition. I didn't realize that I was so ill and frail at the time. So, my compliments to the doctor and all the nursing staff in the emergency department at Sienna. Thank you all for the excellent care that I received during my stay.
