Bimonthly News Update MUST READ: How to Treat Opioid Use Disorder in Health Systems Routinely offering and initiating medication-based treatment for those with opioid use disorder has the potential to save lives in health care settings throughout the country, according to the authors of a new study from The Ohio State University. With more Americans using ever-stronger marijuana, a federal advisory panel is calling for a public health approach that’s a big departure from “Just Say No.” Reclassifying marijuana from a Schedule I controlled substance to Schedule III would significantly ease restrictions on buying and selling cannabis, particularly for medicinal use. In July, the U.S. Postal Service published a new Drug and Alcohol Testing policy that requires management to offer a Last Chance Agreement to employees who fail a drug test for the first time and offers CDL drivers an opportunity to rehabilitate themselves and return to their duties.
