NEWS UPDATE24 October 2025 Publishers noteReports from across the industry confirm that last weekend’s Melbourne Boat Show was a resounding success. With a reported attendance of around 39,000 visitors, the event has cemented itself as a mainstay on the Victorian boating calendar, attracting not only local businesses but also many interstate exhibitors who travel to meet and support their clients. For those with a passion for sailing, this weekend’s Sail Expo at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Sydney’s Pittwater offers another excellent opportunity to connect with the boating community. The exhibitor plan indicates a strong showing of vessels and a quality lineup of onshore exhibitors. Combined with good food, live entertainment, and the company of like-minded sailors, the event promises to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending the Discover Maritime Innovations Conference, the inaugural edition of what I hope becomes a regular event. Unsure of what to expect, I was delighted to find a room full of engaging people, outstanding presenters, and thought-provoking topics. Around 100 delegates gathered, each sharing a genuine commitment to building a better maritime future. Presenters shared detailed information and data on how their products and services are helping to reduce the environmental impact of boating, both recreational and commercial, while encouraging suppliers, entrepreneurs, academics, and innovators to explore research and development initiatives that support decarbonisation and strengthen climate resilience. Congratulations to the organisers on a well-executed and inspiring event. I look forward to sharing more about the conference in the coming weeks. We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
